Train the Trainer

Altec Sentry's Train-the-Trainer program is a resource designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, skills, and content necessary to instruct an ANSI and OSHA compliant operator training. The primary goal of the program is to create competent trainers who can deliver high-quality training to your equipment operator population. The Train-the-Trainer program is particularly beneficial to growing organizations or those with high turnover.

The Altec Sentry Train-the-Trainer program is offered as a subscription-based program with multiple tiers, allowing organizations to choose the level of training capacity that best fits their needs. Each tier includes access to standardized curriculum, instructor authorization, and ongoing program support, with the primary differentiator being the size of the annual operator training block - or the number of operators an organization's authorized trainers are permitted to train each year. Higher tiers provide larger training blocks and expanded flexibility, enabling customers to scale their internal training programs while maintaining consistent, ANSI- and OSHA-aligned instruction through Altec Sentry.

The Train-the-Trainer program consists of a 1-day class. The program is available for Insulating Aerial Devices, Non-Insulating Aerial Devices, Tree Care Aerial Devices, and Digger Derricks. The 1-day class covers training content, training delivery, instructional techniques, and training evaluation.
The following topics are presented during class:

  •  Safety Statements
  •  Hand Signals
  •  OSHA Regulations
  •  Daily Unit Inspection
  •  Traveling Job Briefing
  •  Unit Setup
  •  Pre-Operational Inspection
  •  Unit Operation
  •  Load Capacity

Training can be conducted at your location, St. Joseph, MO, or Birmingham, AL. At the customer's location, students are required to bring their own personal protective equipment which includes a hard hat, gloves, work boots, harnesses, and lanyards. At an Altec training location, protective equipment is provided if necessary.

Once training is completed, each student's training is recorded, and each is given a certificate. Train-the-Trainer credentials must be renewed every 3 years and are renewed through a series of webinars. Altec Sentry provides ongoing support for trainers including certificate generation, informational webinars, content refreshing, and mentorship.
