EZ-Egress™: The Industry’s First Insulating Platform with a Door

Introducing the EZ-Egress™ Insulating Platform System

Entering and exiting the platform just got easier and safer than ever before.

Altec’s EZ-Egress™ is the first insulating platform system with a walk-thru door for energized work, creating safer jobsites and allowing linemen to extend their time in the field. Our focus is innovation that keeps you working safely and efficiently — so we are proud to introduce this revolutionary, patented design that is brand-new to the market.

The EZ-Egress™ platform system provides dielectric protection, like a conventional platform with a liner, but allows the operator to enter and exit the platform through a door. It features a door retention bar in addition to a primary latch. The redundant door latch design secures the door during unit operation.

Creating Safer Jobsites for Linemen

Most operators fully support their body weight with their wrists, elbows and shoulders while entering and exiting a conventional bucket multiple times per day. The EZ-Egress™ insulating platform system alleviates repetitive bodily strain for operators and reduces slip, trip and fall hazards, extending time in the field and creating easier workdays for linemen. Lanyard detection also comes standard on new unit orders with the EZ-Egress™ insulating platform system.

“To Me, It’s the Safest Option”

“You don’t have to jump into the bucket, you don’t have to jump out of the bucket, you’re not putting all that strain on your shoulders and elbows.” – SLTC Advanced Industry Training Instructor AJ Russell

Redundant Door Retention System

The EZ-Egress™ insulating platform system utilizes a redundant door retention system. A rotary latch is employed mid-door and actuated with a red paddle. A door retention bar is employed at the top of the door, which holds the door firmly shut and completes the platform lip while working aloft.

Dielectric Performance

The EZ-Egress™ insulating platform system delivers dielectric protection like a conventional fiberglass bucket and 50 kV liner. A dry periodic test is employed to confirm dielectric performance, and a foil kit is provided with the EZ-Egress™ insulating platform system.

The EZ-Egress™ 24” x 48” platform is compatible with the AA, AN, AM, and TA aerial devices. For more information, contact your account manager or contact us online.
